The Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA) Telšiai Faculty Sculpture Park was established on October 21, 2011, along the beautiful shoreline of Lake Masčio, near the VAA Telšiai Faculty building. The idea of creating this park was initiated by the head of the Telšiai Municipality's Architecture Department, Professor Algirdas Žebrauskas, and Associate Professor Osvaldas Neniškis. The park serves not only as a space for art but also for educating locals and tourists, offering an opportunity to engage with sculpture in an outdoor setting.
Currently, the park showcases 21 sculptures created by alumni of the Vilnius Academy of Arts Telšiai Faculty,
as well as the former Telšiai Applied Arts Technical School and the Telšiai Higher School of Applied Arts. Each sculpture reflects a unique artistic journey, featuring materials like granite and steel. Among the artists are Petras Rimkus, Leonardas Kaleinikovas, Ovidijus Šileika, Arūnas Guokas, and many others.
The park continues to grow as students create new works that will enhance the existing collection, further enriching the cultural life of Telšiai and increasing its appeal to tourists. The creators and staff of the VAA Telšiai Faculty aim for the sculpture park to become a bridge between art and the wider public.
