The Sprūdė Hillfort, located 1.4 km northwest of Lake Glūdas and just 1.35 km from the Church of St. Anne in Pavandenė, is one of the most impressive tourist attractions in Samogitia. The hillfort, resembling an ancient pyramid, reflects the struggles and glorious past of the Balts as they defended their lands from the Teutonic Knights. Historians believe this hillfort dates back to the period of conflicts with the Teutonic Knights and covers an area of about 26 hectares. It features preserved defensive moats, high ramparts, and the remnants of the old entrance to the fortress.

According to legend, a wooden castle once stood on this hill, belonging to Duke Sprūdeikis—brother of King Mindaugas. Beneath the castle were cellars and hiding places used to store valuables and people. Although the castle was long obscured by dense vegetation, landscape modification work has made it visible and easily accessible once again.
For visitors' convenience, a parking lot, wooden stairs, and an observation platform have been set up near the hillfort, offering stunning views of Samogitia's landscapes.
