Viešvėnai Hillfort, located 0.9 km west of the Telšiai–Varnių road and 0.5 km from the Viešė River culvert, is one of the most important historical sites in Samogitia. The hillfort occupies about 5.5 hectares, and in 1253, the Couronian Castle of Viešvė stood here. This monument is state-protected and attracts both history and nature lovers.

According to local legends, giants piled up the hill, carrying earth in handfuls, while another story suggests that the Swedes created underground chambers here for storing valuables and food supplies. In ancient times, there was a cave leading to the hill's cellars.

On the eastern side of the hillfort lies Gojus, a grassy hill that may have been a site for rituals. Nearby, the Viešvė River was considered sacred, and Gojus Hill is connected to the ancient sacred groves. Every year, car rally races take place in this area.
