The Nevarėnai Church of the Crucified Jesus complex is a valuable cultural and historical site comprising several important structures: the church, bell tower, chapel, and wayside shrine.

The original Nevarėnai church was built in 1602 with the support of Count Zabiela. The Bishop of Samogitia, M. Giedraitis, appointed a priest to this church, and the Grand Duke of Lithuania, Sigismund Vasa, established its foundation. The current wooden church, constructed in 1785, was funded by the Samogitian Bishop Juozapas Arnulfas Giedraitis (1754-1838) and the Nevarėnai parish was established in 1911. The church features folk architecture elements and neoclassical details. It is designed in a Latin cross plan, hall-like, with a single nave, transepts, two sacristies, and a bell turret on the main facade.

and a bell turret on the main facade. The interior of the church houses valuable works of sacred art. The main altar includes a sculptural group of the Crucifixion, while the left side altar features statues of St. Simon and St. Thaddeus. The right altar displays a painting of St. George. A stylized Crucifix is hung in the organ loft, which may be contemporaneous with the main altar. Adjacent to the church is a two-story bell tower, built in 1818 with funds from the estate. The bell tower is designed in the Samogitian folk style, with log and frame walls covered with vertical boards. In the churchyard, one can also see a decorative chapel of the Sorrowful Virgin Mary and a distinctive wayside shrine with four facades and decorated windbreaks.
