Travelers heading from Kaunas to Marijampolė will surely notice the red-brick Neo-Gothic tower, located about 1 km from the main road. This is the Church of the Name of the Virgin Mary, situated in the center of the town of Sasnava, and it is one of the most beautiful examples of sacred architecture in the entire region of Užnemunė.
The church is a three-nave structure with a Latin cross plan. Its artistic value is beautifully reflected in the Neo-Gothic oak pulpit crafted by local artisans, adorned with reliefs of the four Evangelists. Additionally, there is a Neo-Baroque confessional and a water tank from the old church. Also noteworthy is the medallion of Priest S. Čėsna, which further enriches the church's interior.
