Monument to Vytautas the Great

In 2003, members of the Vytautas Club in Marijampolė proposed the idea of erecting a monument to Duke Vytautas the Great in the city park. After beginning to raise funds for this project, they saw their idea come to fruition seven years later, on May 22, 2010. In the renovated park, a monument created by sculptor Julius Narušis was unveiled. This 9-meter-high monument, carved from granite, consists of a pedestal and a figure depicting Vytautas the Great in mid-gallop on horseback.
